Queridas familias,

Today, we acknowledged Orange Shirt Day at WOM. It was fantastic to see many students wearing their orange shirts or their favourite shirts. Thank you for your assistance in getting them ready. On Saturday, there are many events throughout the city to acknowledge the day. Hopefully, many of you will participate in these. Please remember that there is no school tomorrow, as the CBE acknowledges Truth and Reconciliation Day.

Picture Day

Picture Day is coming on October 3. Please send your student to school ready for their photo.

Volunteers for Tennis Residency

During our upcoming tennis residency on October 16 to Nov 2, we will need 2 volunteers throughout the instructional time. The coach will provide instructions and the volunteers will be there to support the students in following those instructions alongside the classroom teacher. A schedule will be available soon. Please contact Liz on lmstyan@cbe.ab.ca if you have security clearance are interested in helping for a portion of the time.

Student Pick-Up

We understand that plans change and that sometimes parents run late when picking up their students. To ensure the security and safety of our students, we ask that you let the office know if you are running late or you have made arrangements with a family friend. We can only release students to individuals that are listed in our system or through an email to: womitchell@cbe.ab.ca Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Fun Lunches

The next Fun Lunch will take place on October 31 from Subway. Order from Healthy Hunger.

School Absences

Please remember to call the attendance line to let us know of your student’s absence – 403 777 6100 ext. 1. This not only helps us as we complete daily attendance, but is also a security concern in the case of emergencies. Just a gentle reminder to keep your student home if they are not feeling well.

WO Mitchell School Council

WO Council helps connect parents to the school and provides additional learning opportunities for all students. There are many ways to get involved that do not require you to hold a position on council. If you would like more information about getting connected or volunteer opportunities, please send an email to womparents@gmail.com The next meeting will be taking place on October 24 at 7pm.
