Levanta tu bandera | Artists in Residence with Paloma Negra La Aventurera, May 2025 

Connecting students with musicians adds tremendous learning opportunities, particularly when it bridges students to sounds and languages beyond their local communities. In this residency, W. O. Mitchell students harnessed their Spanish language skills and creativity to compose a song with award winning artists, Paloma Negra, Fredy Rivas, and Jonathan Martínez. Together, they generated lyrics that expressed an expansive view of family that is built on bonds of commitment, love, and shared life experiences.
