Queridas familias,

Thank you for another amazing week at WO Mitchell. I am very grateful to see the smiling faces of our students as they come into the school in the morning. Over the week I have had the privilege of visiting many classrooms and listening to students using their Spanish skills to communicate.

Individualized Program Plans (IPP)

If you have not had the opportunity to send back the signature page of your IPP, please do so as soon as possible.

Volunteers for Tennis Residency

Our tennis residency starts on Monday and runs until November 2. We have a coach coming in from Aforza, who will provide equipment and instruction. Volunteers are needed to support students during instruction. If you have security clearance and are able to help out, please go to the Signup Genius link, where you will find time slots set up according to the class schedule. Thank you to our wonderful school council for financially supporting this program!

Apple Fundraiser

Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who helped last week with the apple pick-up. The fundraiser was a huge success, and the apples and pears were delicious!

Student Pick-Up

We understand that plans change and that sometimes parents run late when picking up their students. To ensure the security and safety of our students, we ask that you let the office know if you are running late or you have made arrangements with a family friend. We can only release students to individuals that are listed in our system or through an email to: womitchell@cbe.ab.ca Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Fun Lunches

The next Fun Lunch will take place on October 31 from Subway.

School Absences

Please remember to call the attendance line to let us know of your student’s absence – 403 777 6100 ext. 1. This not only helps us as we complete daily attendance, but is also a security concern in the case of emergencies. Just a gentle reminder to keep your student home if they are not feeling well.

WO Mitchell School Council

WO Council helps connect parents to the school and provides additional learning opportunities for all students. There are many ways to get involved that do not require you to hold a position on council. If you would like more information about getting connected or volunteer opportunities, please send an email to womparents@gmail.com The next meeting will be taking place on October 24 at 7pm.
