Queridas familias,

It has been fantastic to see many of you over the last two days during our parent-teacher conferences. It is great to see many students enthusiastic about their learning and eager to share with their families.

Winter Musical

We will be hosting our yearly Winter Musical on Wednesday December 6. There will be two performances, one at 2pm, and one at 7pm. Although the 2pm performance is aimed primarily at our student population, parents are welcome to attend both performances. For the evening performance, all choir students and grade 1 and 2 students are to arrive at the school at 6:30pm sharp. Please be courteous when entering through the front door, as there will be many people lined up to get in. There are plenty of seats for all families in the gym. Gracias!

Holiday Hampers and Inn From the Cold Donations

As the holidays approach, we are conscious that we have families in our communities that have experienced financial struggles over the year. If you are a family who could benefit from a Holiday Hamper this coming holiday season, please send a message to Sr. Noriega to let the school know. Please know that this information will be kept confidential and only the numbers of families in need will be shared with our school council executive. Teachers will also share names of families that they believe would benefit. As it has been done in the past, I will contact families to determine if they would like the assistance.

For the Holiday Hampers we will be accepting food gift cards from any supermarket of your choice to help the many families in need this year. We will also accept cash donations so that we can purchase gift cards with those funds. We will be accepting your donations from November 27 – December 15. Again, thank you so much for your continued support towards helping others in need.

Holiday Plants and Purdy’s Chocolate Pick

Holiday plants and chocolate pick up is scheduled to occur on Tuesday November 28. The plan at this time is to have tables set up at the front doors. For now, we have been communicated that we will receive our shipment over the day, but do not have a set time. We will send a separate message on Tuesday to inform families of the specific time frame for picking these items up.

Lunchroom and Field Trips Fees

Parents, please be aware that the lunch supervision registration is now open. If your student stays at school over the lunch program, please register at MyCBE. As well, all school-based fees will be populated in this portal as events happen. Please take note of the fees to pay them in a timely manner.

Fun Lunches

The next Fun Lunch will take place on November 27 from Edo Japan. Your last day to order is Thursday November 23.

WO Mitchell School Council

WO Council helps connect parents to the school and provides additional learning opportunities for all students. There are many ways to get involved that do not require you to hold a position on council. If you would like more information about getting connected or volunteer opportunities, please send an email to womparents@gmail.com The next meeting will be taking place on January 23 at 7pm. This will be an online meeting via Microsoft Teams. The Grade 2 team will be presenting for this meeting.
