Queridas familias,

Wishing you a happy and safe long weekend!

Jump Rope 4 Heart

We are excited to introduce Jump Rope 4 Heart to W.O. Mitchell School.

Jump Rope 4 Heart is a program that encourages students to get active by jumping rope while raising money for heart and brain research. It is a way for students to learn about healthy habits and the importance of physical activity as part of living a healthy lifestyle. As part of our wellness curriculum, students will practice skipping, learn about healthy foods, and heart health.

The program kicked off on May 13 and will run until June 20, 2025. Our goal is to raise $2000. We will be accepting Cash donations along with Cheques (made payable to W.O. Mitchell School). Families who would like a tax receipt, please contact the office so we can take note of your request. Online donations can be made through the Jump Rope for Heart website.

Each week we will have a goal of raising $500 with fun Spirit Booster Activities.

Weekly Spirit Boosters

  • May 23: PJ Day
  • May 30: Super Snack Picnic Outside (bring beach towels)
  • June 6: Crazy Hair Day
  • June 13: Heart Display (Art activity)
  • June 20: Inside Out Day (mismatched clothing, inside out etc.)

On June 20 we will come together as a school to celebrate Jump Rope 4 Heart in combination with Sports day. Please stay tuned for upcoming volunteer opportunities on June 20 in the weekly message.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to the Grade 4/5 Choir for a spectacular performance on May 10 with the Savridi Singers at the “Pure Imagination” concert! Bravo!

WO Council helps connect parents to the school and provides additional learning opportunities for all students. There are many ways to get involved that do not require you to hold a position on council. If you would like more information about getting connected or volunteer opportunities, please send an email to womparents@gmail.com  The next meeting for School Council and the Parent Society will take place on May 20, 2025 at 7pm.  Currently, we are planning a hybrid meeting (in person and online).
