School Community Stampede Pancake Breakfast – June 26

We are pleased to invite students, families, and community members to join us for a Stampede Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Calgary Stampede.

  • Date: Friday, June 26
  • Time: 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
  • Location: 511 Silvergrove Drive NW (compound area next to the playground)

This community event will serve approximately 800–1000 guests and provides an opportunity for students, families, staff, and community members to come together and celebrate our school community and the spirit of Stampede.

As part of the celebration, our students and staff have created a Gallery Walk of Gratitude to recognize and thank our parents and parent volunteers for their ongoing support of our school community. We invite you to take a few moments to view the gallery and celebrate the many ways our families contribute to student success and well-being

Throughout the year, our families and volunteers have contributed in countless ways, volunteering in classrooms, supporting field trips, performances, and celebrations, participating in School Council initiatives, and partnering with staff to support student learning and well-being. These contributions help create the welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environment that makes our school such a special place. Thank you for the many ways you support our students and school community.

Students will begin their day as usual by entering the school and going to their classrooms for attendance. At 9:15 a.m., classes will head outside to attend the event.

During the event, students will move throughout the area to enjoy the breakfast and connect with their friends and families. School staff will be present, wearing orange vests, supervising and connecting with families.

Before re-entering the school, students will check in with their teacher, and attendance will be taken.

Families are welcome to attend and enjoy breakfast alongside our school community. Parents and guardians may choose to join their child’s class area or connect with other families, community members, and staff during the event. To help ensure a safe and positive experience for all participants, students will be served first.

We look forward to coming together as a school community to celebrate the spirit of Stampede and to recognize the many contributions of our families and volunteers.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting student learning, well-being, and success.

Playground Fundraising

Our Cash Raffle fundraiser is back in support of the playground renovation!

This fundraiser has the potential to raise up to $15,000 for our new playground, but we need your help to get there. In our last raffle, more than $4,000 in potential fundraising was lost due to unsold tickets. Every ticket sold helps bring us closer to creating a safe, fun, and modern playground for our students.

Prizes: $3,000 and $1,000
Tickets: $20 each

*NEW* An Annual Family & Friends Pass to Heritage Park (valued at $229.95) will be given to the family that sells the most raffle tickets!

There are several easy ways to participate:

  • Purchase single tickets or request ticket booklets to sell by emailing WOMfundraising@gmail.com
  • Buy tickets with cash at the school office

Even selling a few tickets can make a big difference.

The draw will take place on the last day of school, June 26.

To donate to the playground project please donate directly to W.O. Mitchell Playground Fundraising Campaign. EducationMatters will issue donations receipts for donations of $20 or more.

Thank you for your ongoing support!

Jump Rope for Heart

A heartfelt thank you to all our parent volunteers who generously gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm to help make our recent Sports Day/ Jump Rope for heart event such a success. Events like this would not be possible without the support of our incredible school community.

We are excited to share that we raised $1635 toward our fundraising goal of $2,000! Every contribution helps support valuable opportunities and experiences for our students, and we are so grateful for everyone's participation and generosity. Opportunities to continue donating online will remain open https://jumpropeforheart.crowdchange.ca/119333.

Thank you for helping make our school such a caring, supportive, and vibrant community. We truly appreciate all that you do
