We held our annual Volunteer Tea this week, and it was wonderful to see many of you during our event. Thank you to all our volunteers for your time, effort, and dedication to building our school community.
Jump Rope for Heart
Great job W.O. Mitchell! This week we raised $2,899.50. 0ur goal was to raise $2000 by June 20. We have met our goal! Since we raised an extra $500 Sr. Noriega will be dunked into the dunk tank on the day of the event. In addition, Teachers have volunteered to be dunked too. Students will begin voting next week for which teacher they would like to see in the dunk tank. Thank you for continuing to donate!
The online website will continue to accept donations until June 20. We accept Cash donations along with Cheques (made payable to W.O. Mitchell School). Each week we will have a goal of raising $500 with fun Spirit Booster Activities.
Weekly Spirit Boosters:
- June 19: Wear Red to support Heart & Stroke
- June 20: Inside Out Day (mismatched clothing, inside out etc.)
On June 20 our Jump Rope for Heart and Sports Day event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will end at approximately 12:10 p.m. Parent Council has kindly offered a special snack during the event. More information will be sent out to our parent volunteers about helping to set up for the day next week. We kindly ask that parent volunteers arrive at 9:10 a.m. and sign in at the office and dress for the weather. Teachers continue to look for 5-6 parent volunteers who may be able to volunteer for this event. Police clearance is necessary. Please contact your child’s classroom teacher if interested.
Playdates and Picking Up From School
As we get closer to summer and students make plans to go home with other students and parents, please ensure that you call the office as early as possible to communicate any changes in "going home" routines.
Lost and Found
We have accumulated a vast collection of items in our lost and found table. Please encourage your students to check for lost items. Items that are still there will be donated on June 20.
Lunchroom and Field Trips Fees
As the school year begins to wind down, please ensure that you are up to date with your school-based fees. You can access your account through MyCBE.
School Spirit Wear
We are happy to announce that we have Spirit Wear with our new logo available to purchase through our school website. For more information, please visit our Merchandise page.
We have been able to acquire a few samples for sizing. If you would like to try a sample before ordering, please visit the office. The turn-around time from order to picking up or sending the order is around 3 weeks.
Families have the option of pick up “in store” or pick up at the school.
IPPs and Report Cards
IPPs went home on Friday June 13. We ask that you review the information on the IPP and send back the signed Signature Page by June 18. If you have any questions regarding the IPP, please contact your homeroom teacher.
Report Cards will be available online on June 25 throughMyCBE.
Fun Lunch
The next Fun Lunch will take place on June 16 from Spolumbo’s. Please note that orders will close 5 days before the date.
WO Mitchell School Council
WO Council helps connect parents to the school and provides additional learning opportunities for all students. There are many ways to get involved that do not require you to hold a position on council. If you would like more information about getting connected or volunteer opportunities, please send an email to womparents@gmail.com The next meeting for School Council and the Parent Society will take place on June 17, 2025 at 7pm. As this is an end of year celebration, the meeting will take place at Joey Crowfoot.

Last Day of Classes
Our last day of classes will be on June 26. Please note that this will be an early dismissal day with students leaving at 1:20 pm. Kindergarten students will have their last day on June 25, and do not have school on June 26.
