This week was filled with exciting learning opportunities and celebrations at Escuela W. O. Mitchell. Our Grade 3 students proudly participated in the 2026 ¡Qué Pasa! at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium alongside 10 International Spanish Academy schools across the CBE. Their performances showcased exceptional talent, dedication, confidence, and enthusiasm, and we are incredibly proud of how they represented our school community. Congratulations to all our Grade 3 students on a truly memorable performance!

Kindergarten & Grade 1 Orientation May 21 (5:00 PM to 6:30 PM)
We look forward to welcoming our future 2026/27 Kindergarten families to W.O. Mitchell School next week. During this session, families will learn more about our Spanish Bilingual Program, school routines, staggered entry, and ways to support students at home.

Playground Fundraising
Upcoming Bottle Drive: W.O. Mitchell School Council will be collecting bottles and cans from May 19–22, following the May long weekend. We invite families to consider donating their refundable items in support of our Playground Fundraising Campaign. A trailer will be on-site at the school to accept donations.
Donate directly to W.O. Mitchell Playground Fundraising Campaign. EducationMatters will issue donations receipts for donations of $20 or more.
Fun Lunch: May 19 (Domino’s)
Fun Lunches are offered throughout the year through Healthy Hunger, with a portion of proceeds supporting the school.
To participate:
1. Register at www.healthyhunger.ca
2. Order by midnight five days before the event.
If your child is absent on Fun Lunch Day:
Please contact the school before 10:30 AM if you wish to pick up their lunch (available after 1:30 PM).
- If we do not hear from you, the lunch will be donated.
- Refunds are not available for absences.
