Families can Celebrate Math and Pi Day on Saturday, March 14
Ways to Celebrate Pi Day…
- Eat any type of pie. Try key lime pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie or chicken pot pie.
- Take the punny approach. Eat pineapple, pizza, or pine nuts, and drink pineapple juice.
- Don’t forget to celebrate PI when it’s 1:59pm on Pi Day, however, there is some debate regarding the exact time that Pi Day should be celebrated. Though 1:59PM is probably the most common, some believe that the 24-hour clock should be used instead, which would mean that Pi Day should be celebrated at 1:59AM or 15:09PM.
- March in a circle to show your love for pi.
- You can also be more serious and have 3.14 minutes of silence. Every person can think about what pi means them and consider where the world would be without pi.
- Write poetry. Write a pi-ku (haiku) in Spanish
Pi, danza sin fin,
Número loco y eterno,
Círculo sin fin
or in English
Starts with three one four
Number that never quite ends
Math goes round and round

Yearbook Cover Art Contest!!
"Unleash your Kindness"; "Desata tu Bondad".
This year, our yearbook celebrates kindness! We want YOU to show what kindness looks like to you. It can be people helping others, friends sharing, animals being loved, acts of caring, or anything that warms your heart. Draw your idea of kindness for our Yearbook Cover — colourful, fun, and creative — anything that shows how powerful and joyful kindness can be. And remember to follow the guidelines - any artwork that does not meet the guideline requirements cannot be considered. The attached contest flyer details all the requirements for the cover art submissions. This year, we will have 12 finalists (2 from each grade)! Submissions are due Thursday, April 9th.
Traffic Safety Reminder
Please help keep students safe by observing crosswalks, parking rules, and speed limits near the school. Drop-off and pick-up times can be busy, so consider parking a block or two away and walking in. Review safe travel practices with your children, such as using crosswalks and looking both ways before crossing.
