Hola a todas las familias,
I would like to recognize several recent highlights in our school community, including Día del Libro (World Book Day), our photography residency and exhibition, the book exchange, and the continued success of this year’s Read-a-Thon. These experiences have provided meaningful opportunities for student learning, creativity, and a shared celebration of literacy. We are very proud of the enthusiasm and commitment our students have demonstrated.
We extend our sincere thanks to our parent volunteers for their invaluable support. Their efforts in organizing the Read-a-Thon, supporting the photography residency and exhibition, assisting in classrooms, and coordinating Día del Libro and the book exchange— including preparing and organizing donated books—help make these rich learning experiences possible for our students. We would also like to thank the many parent volunteers who support our monthly Fun Lunches; your ongoing contributions are greatly appreciated. Our next Fun Lunch will take place on Monday, April 27.
Parents are currently finalizing the total funds raised, and we look forward to sharing this information with our community soon.

Playground Fundraising
W.O. Mitchell School Council will be collecting bottles and cans from May 19–22, following the May long weekend. We invite families to consider donating their refundable items in support of our Playground Fundraising Campaign. A trailer will be on-site at the school to accept donations.
Donate directly to W.O. Mitchell Playground Fundraising Campaign. EducationMatters will issue donations receipts for donations of $20 or more.

Fun Lunch: April 27 (Chachi’s)
Fun Lunches are offered throughout the year through Healthy Hunger, with a portion of proceeds supporting the school.
To participate:
1. Register at www.healthyhunger.ca
2. Order by midnight five days before the event.
If your child is absent on Fun Lunch day:
Please contact the school before 10:30 AM if you wish to pick up their lunch (available after 1:30 PM).
- If we do not hear from you, the lunch will be donated.
- Refunds are not available for absences.

Traffic Safety Reminder
Please help keep students safe by observing crosswalks, parking rules, and speed limits near the school. Drop-off and pick-up times can be busy, so consider parking a block or two away and walking in. Review safe travel practices with your children, such as using crosswalks and looking both ways before crossing.
